I remember going for two summers and my lil brother was just across the lake in the boys part of a camp because back then they separated the genders. I learned to swim, and live with nature and I believe it was one of the happiest memories in my child hood. I loved it. So unfortunate that the camp is now closed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8010910004220314085.post-87639434751451740572023-10-07T08:00:21.776-07:002023-10-07T08:00:21.776-07:00 Wow. I Googled and this page popped up. I went there 1978 and 79. Great, great time. I made a ton of lanyards in arts in craft, remember the boat house and lake, the revelry in morning, the cleanest cabins., the chocolate pudding that had everyone running to the foul-smelling latrine, Algonquin tribe teepèes and the end of summer fire ceremony with our cloth Indian thongs ...lol. I connected with my first white friend on Facebook years later. He passed away a few years ago. We shared fond memories. Glad to have him and the experiencein in my life. . I remember a concert named Willie who was really nice to us. That's about the only name. I really remember but I learned a lot about life at that camp. Especially learning to swim was very important to me. . I lived in Brooklyn at the time but it's really funny how now I'm less than an hour from there. The counselor told me he would have to let the chef know I did not like his cooking. I still refused to eat them. Next thing I know a large black man in a white chef's apron and hat is standing at my table with a mad look directed right at me. I started eating the prunes immediately with a smile on my face. Somethings you never forget. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
